To look for the new contemporary artists in 2010, it’s a good idea to look over to Cuba and in particular one Cuban artist by the name of Iran Plata. He’s mashed up a number of styles to create his own unique signature – mixing a bit of Dali and Escher, including the same humourous bent both these famous artists shared.
He’s looking to exhibit in Florida shortly and after that you will likely be hearing a lot more about him as his exile from Cuba to Canada has meant he’s had to postpone some exhibitions – but he’s definitely a name to watch out for in 2010.
