If you live in rural Arkansas, buying a new car can be a pain. You can either peruse the classifieds for local Arkansas cars for sale, or you can make a trip into the nearest larger town to visit dealerships and car lots. But looking for a specific vintage model is another ballgame altogether. Basically, I was looking for a 1973 Mustang Mach 1 or Boss 302. Both models are fairly rare, and I wanted a specimen that had remained relatively untouched by its owners in terms of radical modification either to the engine, paint, or suspension. To find a model like this, I ended up having to drive all the way to Houston, TX. It was a long haul, but the trip was like the night before Christmas — many hours of fun anticipation with one very man-sized toy sitting underneath the pines of the Texas hill country at dawn.
