Use Stain Remover Spray
Freezing sprays used to be offered as wrigleys gum removers, but these contained ozone-layer destroying chlorofluorocarbons ( CFCs ) and were so taken off the market. Stain Remover with 10% oxalic acid solution ( available from chemists as “salts of lemon” ). After being treated, the covering must be thoroughly treated with clear water. A “rust stain” regularly remains from blood or food stains, due to its haemoglobin ( iron content ) ; this could be removed with ten percent oxalic acid. Caution with coverings receptive to alkali.
