How do I fix my Windows Registry?

If you are having performance problems with your PC and you have installed a virus protection software package then your problem lies elsewhere.  Often performance problems – slowly running jobs, long launch-time for applications, etc. – are often caused by errors, redundancy, or duplicate code keys on your Windows System Registry.  Your Registry is the complex database that contains all the code keys and parameters that Windows uses to run your applications.  When records on this file become corrupt they cause Windows to have to retry or search for multiple records to do the same job.  All of these things will cause your PC to start running slowly.  To fix this you need to perform a registry maintenance function with a quality registry software system.  It will repair the registry as needed and back up the file for any needed restoration in the future.
