Assistive Technology For Learning Disabilities

Assistive technology is now widely used to help children with learning disabilities.  And with the use of computer and this kind of technology, a child who has difficulties in learning can experience individualized learning and can explore the world of the multimedia.  If this kind of technology is included in the learning program, teaching is enriched, remediation is facilitated, and communication is highly improved.

There are many software and devices using assistive technology that are used to help children with certain disabilities in learning.  Using these software within a computer system, a child’s reading, spelling, and writing abilities are improved.  Some of these software that are commonly used are text-to-speech, word prediction, text highlighting, and spell checker.  More and more software and devices are now being developed to help children with learning disabilities.
