Dealing with Back Pain When You’re Far from Home

When my friends were on sabbatical last year, they opted to spend their time in Australia, a place both of them had long wanted to visit.  Because they didn’t know anyone living there, they checked with other faculty members who had spent time there before they left in order to get recommendations for a good physician.  It never occurred to them to get references for a Sydney chiropractor, though, despite my friends’ occasional back problems.  Fortunately, while they were in the city they located a friend of a friend who regularly saw a chiropractor there.   They wre quite happy with the recommendation.
