Medical education is vital for nursing careers

In the UK, having a decent medical education is now expected of all major NHS roles. Nurses, just as with doctors and dentists, have to complete a university degree as part of their training. This means the profession is not as attractive for natural care-givers who want to look after people, but who don’t have the skills to complete a medical education at degree level. So although it is good for the medical awareness of hospital staff, there is a risk it could have a negative effect on patient care from a soft-skills perspective.
