Most of the best young athletes in this country will choose to play one of the other major sports before they will choose to play soccer. This has led some people to say that United States soccer players are not the same class of athletes as football or basketball players. This arguement has also started to make its way to Major League Baseball. With a constant stream of foreign players making to the pro level these days, the American presence in baseball is less than it ever was. There are many Latin American players in the game now making their presence felt.
