When you think a hollywood vacation you probably envision celebrities in big sunglasses, palm trees basking in the West coast sunshine, and a glitzy and glamorous nightlife. This locale is certainly awe-inspiring in a flashy kind of way, but did you know that there’s a place that shares the same name and has a decidedly more laid-back atmosphere? Hollywood Beach, Florida is bustling with activity and energy, yet it manages to be family-friendly and accessible at the same time. This beach town has a familiar name and sits near Fort Lauderdale and Miami but has established an identity all its own.
Two of the seven or so miles of beachfront that Hollywood has been blessed with consist of a wide, friendly and vibrant boardwalk. Only foot traffic is allowed along this pathway, and you’re sure to see joggers, walkers, amblers and strollers galore. Soak up a quintessential boardwalk experience by buying an ice cream cone, catching a beach volleyball game, and watching the array of happy people go by. This will make for an excellent mood-setting activity, as there’s much more fun to come.
